The combine saw it as a good opportunity for the club and hope it can help with the dwindling numbers and interest in the senior and junior competition.
Travis Nicholson who has been one of the better players in senior competition for years will coordinate the sessions.
“Our club decided to take it over as it hasn't been conducted in Stawell for two years,” Nicholson said.
“It is good for cricket around the district to get the program back up and running.
“So far we have had nine registrations we are not expecting huge numbers, but it is good just see the the program return.”
Swifts Great Western Cricket club sees it as an important program to keep children interested in Cricket and to ensure long term viability of Cricket in our area.
The program provides children aged 5-8 the opportunity to learn the basics skills of cricket while making new friends and having fun.
The program will run for a total of eight weeks with Nicholson the coordinator of the group.
Registrations can be done online.
Each child will receive a bonus player pack which includes a bat and ball, a drink bottle, a t shirt, a hat and a back pack.
The clinic will be held at Stawell’s Central Park.
Milo cricket is open to both girls and boys of all abilities.
In partnership with Milo Cricket there will also be clinics ran at the primary schools late in October.
