It will be the first time in six years the Wimmera region has hosted a state tennis event.
The 13-and-under event will see nine teams compete over the two days including a team of Wimmera players.
Marita Punchard has been coaching the Wimmera team of Jacob Casey, Dylan Thompson, Zac Duffy and Edmund Bush in preparation for the tournament.
Haven Tennis Club secretary Rebecca Bird said the club was excited about hosting the regional team event and was looking forward to showcasing its courts.
“We are delighted to have Tennis Victoria visiting the Wimmera and hope this will raise the profile of tennis in the region,” she said.
“We encourage all tennis lovers to attend and watch the junior players in action.”
Barwon won the cup in 2015 when it was played at Wodonga.
Wimmera placed 10th out of 11 teams competing, but will be out to better that result this season.
Tennis Victoria tournaments and events manager Andrew Reynolds said he expected the host region to perform well on its home courts.
“Tennis Victoria is pleased to support this high quality event in the Wimmera region,” he said.
The John Fitzgerald Cup will run from October 15 to 16.
