A neolithic axehead made of jade green stone and white jade Chinese buckle were taken.
Neither item has any monetary worth, but are sentimentally valued by their owner, who said to police she did not think they were deliberately taken.
Ararat police Senior Constable Gjalt Erkelens said the owner would not press charges if the items were returned.
“There is no value estimated because the owner has never had that done,” he said.
“It is of very collectable and emotional value.
“The owner believes it was just a simple mistake, because it was a select audience, it could have just been a mistake.”
“Anyone with information should call Ararat police on 5355 1500,” he said.
