So, whatever you do, don’t have a baby, a birthday or a bonfire because I can’t fit it in.
Year 7 information evening – unavoidable. St Jude’s Showcase – unmissable.
Richard Morris Memorial Concert – unforgettable.
The Wedding Singer is going to be a blast – can’t wait to sit and enjoy family and friends perform – but I’ll have to stand as I MC at Horsham West’s Colour Fest and dance party, because you’ll never catch me running through those 5km of colour stations.
I’ll be paralysed by nerves for the girls through Annie auditions, music theory and practical piano exams, presentation night performances and that one little end of semester music concert for choir.
The chaplaincy book fair will absorb three days of my life. That will mean lots of cups and saucers to wash as we provide a cuppa and cake for our clients, along with literally thousands of fabulous books for $1 each – which is just the kind of maths I like with my busy mummy brain.
Make crowns for the school musical? Obviously that will have to be a ‘yes’, as costume construction is an obligatory part of the parental contract.
Props for the Sunday School Christmas play? Yep, absolutely, although I hadn’t thought that through – but finding lots of large books, a toy cat and several sets of spectacles can’t be that hard, can it?
The dentist! Darn it, those three months went quickly.
A day trip to Melbourne shouldn’t be that taxing the day before a full dress rehearsal for the dance concert. Hmmmmmm. Oh well, life is short. Hair up for classical ballet and hair down for Irish, two concerts in one day… life is way, way too short.
Help save 17 tadpoles from the drain down the front and put them in the dam down the back, of course, why wouldn’t I? Only seven committee meetings left for the rest of the year, not that I’m counting – yay!
Three delightful committee Christmas break up parties, I am absolutely counting – double yay!
Lunch time activities at school? Working with more than 100 primary school children making cards for the Meals on Wheels clients will be fun, and hugely rewarding.
Lose 10 kilos before Christmas so I look fabulous at the Boxing Day races? Nope. Like I said, I couldn’t fit another thing in.
