HORSHAM lady golfers have a busy week of golf ahead when the club hosts one of its most prestigious events, the Nell Smithett Memorial Trophy.

There are several competitions across three days, starting with the Nell Smithett four-ball aggregate stableford competition on Tuesday, October 18 at 9.30am. Sixty ladies will take to the course.
Thursday, October 20 is the stableford event with a shot gun start at 10.30am. Visitors are welcome to join the large field of Wimmera ladies.
On Friday, the Nell Smithett Memorial Trophy will be contested. Played annually since 1970, the trophy recognises the achievements and contribution to ladies golf by Horsham Golf Club member Nell Smithett.
Nell was a member of Horsham Golf Club, serving as Lady Captain for four years and was Club Champion in 1964,65, 66, and 67, Nell was also Wimmera Champion in 1965.
The format is a stroke event with teams of three or four. The best three scores will count with a shot gun start at 9.30am.
Horsham ladies will also play for the Blue Wren Trophy in a separate competition, in conjunction with the event.
