Wimmera German Fest steering committee chair Peter Daffy said numbers were down but the crowd still enjoyed themselves.
Last year’s event took place in 37-degree heat while Saturday could manage only 16 to 23 degrees, but Mr Daffy was glad to have rain for farmers.
“We had some positive feedback from people who attended,’’ he said.
“Everyone said the music was good and the food was great and the beer was cold.
“So everybody had a good time, apart from the weather.
“The stein holding competition and the best dressed, they were new features this year that went well.”
Mr Daffy said about 400 people attended the festival compared with more than 600 last year.
