The students were involved in the annual Premier’s Reading Challenge.
Learning support teacher Gen Kreymborg said the students should be proud of their achievements.
To complete the challenge, students from prep to grade two had to read 30 books and students in grade three and above had to read 15 books.
Mrs Kreymborg said the students read 9010 books altogether and celebrated with a party on Thursday.
“They always enjoy the challenge,” she said.
“Families who have been involved for a number of years automatically jump down to the library now and borrow heaps of books.”
There are 387 students enrolled at the school – 290 students registered for the challenge and 238 students completed the challenge.
Mrs Kreymborg said literacy skills were vital for students.
“Literacy has a big impact on everyday life and it gives students the opportunity to grow their own knowledge and develop skills for life,” she said.
“Anything they want to achieve they can – doors are always open if you can read.”
Mrs Kreymborg said a number of students managed to read 100 books, including including Joshua Wundke and Eva Drendel, who cut the cake at the party.
“We celebrated with a party on Thursday, where we had a beautiful meal and cake,” Mrs Kreymboreg said.
“There were some very excited students and parents.”
