Festival convener Don Calvert said the feedback had been overwhelmingly positive for the event, which saw 55 bands play across six venues in three days over the weekend.
“On the first day, Friday, people started streaming in who hadn’t preregistered, they were here for the weekend.
“We were beyond our expectations because of the change of date we were very careful that we didn’t over-extend ourselves.
“We are pleased with the fact that it has proven to be a viable new event.”
Mr Calvert said festival guests has been asking their accommodation venues to book them in for next year.
“They said they were so glad it had been changed to October as even though it was cold and wet, they preferred that to the heat,” he said.
The festival included more variety of music, including blues, which won over even some hardcore jazz fans.
