THERE will be plenty of people getting an early start to their weekend on Friday, October 28, to make sure they do not miss a moment of the racing action at the Millers 2016 Horsham Cup at Horsham Racecourse.
Gates will open at 12pm for the twilight event, which has developed into a family-friendly evening out. The Cup day activities feature live music with Kailee O’Beirne from 5pm-8pm and free children’s activities with Kelly Sports.
Alongside top racing on the track, there is always plenty of competition off it in the fashion stakes.
Prizes will be on offer in a range of categories, including lady of the day, best dressed male and best dressed couple. Registrations for the prizes will be taken on the day.
The quality of the ensembles on show at the Horsham Cup is always increasing and the fashions are expected to be a tightly-contested affair.
Entertainment and refreshments will be on hand throughout the evening.

In 2015, for the first time in a decade, the crowd was thrilled to cheer home a local winner in the Cup race.
Trained by Wimmera trainer Paul Preusker, Magic Consol charged home to win by two lengths in front of a very appreciative home crowd.
Horsham jockey Holly McKechnie had a brilliant ride to take out the race.

The Ararat Gold Cup and Programmed China Bowl, to be held on November 6, is billed as the richest race day in the Wimmera region.
Drawing large crowds and top quality competitors, the Gold Cup event is a huge day of racing, including the Cup itself and the Programmed China Bowl event.
The China Bowl has a $77,000 purse on offer while the 2016 Gold Cup is worth $50,000.
A Vobis $20,000 gold bonus will be offered for eligible Victorian breeders successful in the China Bowl race.
In the fashion stakes, children as well as adults get into the swing in a bid to take home prizes sponsored by local businesses.
Other racing across the region includes the Mt Wycheproof Cup on Saturday, October 29, from 11am, including the $15,000 Elders Mt Wycheproof Cup, children’s activities and live music.
The Dunkeld Cup will be held on Saturday, November 12 from 11am, boasting a a picnic atmosphere at the foot of Mt Abrupt.
The Donald Races are on Sunday, November 13 from 11am. Join in the fun of fashions on the field, live music on the lawn, a jumping castle, face painting and more.
