HORSHAM tenpin bowler Sophie Martin is the September nominee for the Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly’s Sports Star of the Year award.

Martin was selected after being chosen to represent Victoria following a standout performance at the 2016 Junior Country Cup in Colac.
The Horsham College student bowled in all 14 games, maintaining a strong average throughout.
Her overall average, at 171.5, saw her approached to join the President Shield squad to represent Victoria.
She has also made the All Star team and is currently ranked as the second highest in the club.
Martin started bowling competitively in 2011, having previously bowled in the junior and senior Emerson Shield and the Country Cup.
