Dragon Boat Victoria general manager Chris Schleusener said everyone was looking forward to the event.
“With officials and support volunteers, there will be about 250 dragon boaters,” he said.
“There are 13 clubs from around Victoria coming along, so everyone is pretty excited.
“With the brand new Dimboola club being one of those teams it is exciting for dragon boating locally and state-wide.”
Schleusener said the recent rain had proved beneficial for the event.
“From talking to the council it seems like it has been a real benefit to top up their water supplies,” he said.
“It has given the river a good wash out and meant there was enough water for the regatta.” A come and try session will run from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday at the Horsham City Rowing Club. Racing on Sunday runs from 9am to 4.30pm.
