Peppa Pig tried to push me out of bed last night – she’s a space hog! Though, I reckon Angus was probably behind the whole thing.

Sure, he might look like a sweet innocent teddy bear, with his creamy soft fur and adorable pink nose. But he’s actually 10 years old now.
He’s the same age as Tiani, because he arrived at the hospital as a gift along with a flower arrangement to celebrate her birth.
Angus has always been such a caring bear. But I suppose he was wondering why I was snoozing in his spot next to Tiani.
Not that he hasn’t been held tightly to her heart and carried into my bed 100 times over the years.
On this occasion, I was fighting over space with Peppa and Angus in Tiani’s bed to try and save some time.
Tiani had climbed into my bed with me after midnight every night for more than a week. And with mum staying in the spare bedroom between chemo sessions, I thought I’d cut down on all that disruptive wandering about in the darkness by sharing my baby’s bed from the word go.
Of course, night times are generally much more restful these days than when the girls were small.
I often have three daughters sleep through the night without interruption now.
But there are still regular heavy colds, coughing fits, nightmares and sleeplessness issues that require my company.
The culprit this time was an accidentally seen moment of vision from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
A bewitched pirate steps into the moonlight to reveal his gruesome skeletal existence. Pretty scary stuff seared onto the subconscious.
Bedtime is still a time consuming task though, as our current routine includes a one on one stint in three different bedrooms.
While the two youngest girls love to be read to, 14-year-old Katianna just wants to have a chat.
And she’ll talk about anything to keep us with her a few minutes longer.
Then Katianna always needs her yellow throw rug and Nan’s hand-knitted knee rug spread across her bed.
Yasinta needs her water bottle and tissues rearranged within reach.
Tiani needs one last kiss and cuddle, while Peppa Pig and Angus are tucked up each side of her.
Looking ever so snuggly – and smug.
