Dunmunkle Ward had a complete turnover with Mayor Ray Kingston’s retirement and Mr Grange’s defeat.
According to the Victorian Electoral Commission’s provisional result, the ward will now be represented by Tom Hamilton and Corrine Heintze.
In Hopetoun Ward, incumbent Helen Ballentine was successful and Mr McLean’s defeat allowed Shane Roberts to become the ward’s second councillor.
In Warracknabeal Ward, incumbents Graeme Massey and Kylie Zanker were successful with Jean Wise taking the third spot.
A total of 15 candidates ran for seven vacancies across the three wards, with Dunmunkle Ward being the most competitive with seven candidates running.
Mr Hamilton is a Dunmunkle area farmer, having grown up in Murtoa and said during the election that he decided to run for council as a way to give back to the community.
Ms Heintze is a farmer and rural supply business owner who ran on her wholesaling experience.
Mr Roberts is an ambulance officer who supported the rates rise cap and called for a fairer rates structure for farmers.
Ms Wise retired in 2015 and has been involved in a wide variety of community organisations.
