Berry, one of three Ballarat Clarendon College students alongside Morrish Medal winner Hugh McCluggage and Willem Drew, is likely to be among the top draft picks.
Berry had a standout bottom year season with the North Ballarat Rebels in 2015, but endured a difficult 2016 season, which was plagued by injuries.
Berry recovered in time to play several matches towards the end season with his performances matching those of his breakout season in 2015.
The Vic Country captain performed well at the draft combine, recording the best time for the three-kilometre time trial, finishing in nine minutes and 46 seconds.
This put Berry in the top 10 three-kilometre runs in draft combine history.
Berry also finished in the top 10 for the repeat sprints and clean hands and kicking tests, reminding recruiters of his potential.
Berry will soon be a part of the Going Places series on the AFL website.
