The refurbishment project started to improve the function and accessibility of the amenities before developing to a major facility overhaul.
The pool now includes a new kiosk, first aid room, hot showers, new toilets and basins and an extended veranda for additional shade.
Balmoral and District Swimming Pool president Tony Hutchins said the building now caters for people of all ages and abilities.
“The official opening will allow everyone to view the improvements first hand and join with the Balmoral and district community in celebrating the completion of both projects,” he said.
The funding for the project was part of the Victorian Government Community Shade Grants Program aimed at increasing the availability of shade in public areas where people spend time outdoors, providing much needed protection from sun exposure and decreasing the likelihood of skin cancer.
Three permanent shade structures were built at the Balmoral and District Pool to compliment the existing project and provide enhanced sun protection.
