Goolum Goolum gave its all but quickly lost its grip against the Saints.
The side managed a comeback in the final quarter but the Saints pushed on to a comfortable victory.
Goolum Goolum health and wellbeing program manager Dean O’Loughlin said it was great to see the diversity in the range of players.
“Everyone enjoyed themselves. We played over three quarters instead of the usual two which tested some people,” he said.
“The greatest thing out of it was the interaction of several women playing and giving it a go.
“We had some really talented female footballers out there who ran straight through some players.
“It was so good to see the young, the old, women and kids enjoying the game and running around with a snag in their hands.”
O’Loughlin said he received positive feedback from all involved.
“People do want to see it again, which is a great thing for Goolum Goolum,” he said.
“We initiated this as part of our health and wellbeing program and our let’s get active program to get people off the couch.
“We wanted to do this not just for our community but the whole community with people involved from all over the region.
“It has proven to be a great way for people to interact.”
