TO HIS family, he was a loving yet cheeky brother and son.
To his young son he was a crocodile hunter.
Former Horsham man Kyle Bunting was killed in a car crash last Tuesday at Ballan.
Since the 25-year-old’s tragic death, his family and the community have rallied to support Kyle’s young son, Jaxon.
Jaxon, 4, lives in Horsham with his mother Paige Chesson.
Miss Chesson said Kyle was an amazing parent and, although the two were no longer together, his death had left a huge hole in both their lives.
“They were great together, Kyle and Jaxon,” she said.
“He was like a superhero to him.
“One of the things they shared was superheroes, and ninja turtles and race cars.
“They loved cars. Even now all Jax will ask is when he can help fix dad’s race car after the accident.
“It had been in the mechanics for ages and Jaxon didn’t get a chance to see it fixed up before the accident.”
Miss Chesson said Jaxon would miss his father deeply.
“We both will forever miss him,” she said.
“He was strong-willed, a fantastic father and role-model for his son.
“He was loved by many people. It’s very hard."
Kyle Bunting will be laid to rest in Hamilton, where he was originally from, on Friday.
Kyle moved to the Wimmera and attended Horsham North Primary School before moving away and returning again.
He attended Horsham College and Dimboola Memorial Secondary College.
Kyle’s mother Wendy and father Maxwell said it was an overwhelming time.
“We’re taking him home,” she said.
“He loved his son and his family.
“He had three brothers and a twin sister.
“They fought like cats and dogs but they still loved each other.
“He was cheeky, stubborn and stirring. He liked to stir everyone up.”
Mrs Bunting said Jaxon’s birth in 2012 was the proudest moment Kyle’s life.
“Jaxon loves his daddy and he was the love of Kyle’s life,” she said.
“Jaxon called him the crocodile hunter.
“He always thought his dad was a crocodile hunter because he worked at Tipperary station in the Northern Territory.”
A gofundme account, In loving memory of Kyle Bunting, has been set up to help support Jaxon, Paige and the Bunting family.
