The NSW Breakers secured a crushing nine-wicket win over Queensland in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) final on Saturday at Allan Border Field.
The win follows the NSW men’s title success in the Matadors BBQs One-Day Cup in October.
The men’s side also secured a win against Queensland.
On Saturday, the star for the Breakers was opening bowler Rene Farrell.
Farrell finished with impressive figures of 3/20 from seven overs to restrict Queensland to a total of 119 runs.
Teammates Lauren Smith (2/6) and Maisy Gibson (2/14) took two wickets apiece for NSW.
Jemma Barsby top scored for Queensland with 30.
In reply, the Breakers cruised to victory in the 24th over for the loss of just one wicket.
Alyssa Healey led the charge with 56 not out, finishing the match with an unbroken 78-run partnership with captain Alex Blackwell (36no).
The result means the Breakers have now secured their 18th title win in the WNCL.
