Three teams sit on seven wins and two losses after Saturday. Quantong returned to winning form after its first two losses of the season.
The side’s tie against Haven Green went all the way to wire as Quantong held on for a 4-37 to 4-34 victory.
The two sides went rubber for rubber throughout the day.
Heading into rubber eight, Quantong had an almost insurmountable 4-33 to 3-28 lead.
Only a 6-0 win to Haven Green’s Michael Lloyd and Kyah Wilkinson would hand the side full points.
The combination of Jarrett Smith and Tyson Marshall was good enough to get the side over the line despite going down 6-4.
Second-placed Natimuk did not have things all its own way against Haven Orange.
The side won 5-33 to 3-22 thanks largely to strong singles play by Jordan Smith, Henry Mackley and Jayden Scott.
Smith and Mackley each won their singles rubbers 6-0.
Stephanie McDonald was the shining light for Haven Green.
She conceded just three games on the way to winning all three of her rubbers.
Central Park could not add a second win to its tally this season when it hosted Haven Black.
The ladder-leaders proved far too strong in marching to a 8-48 to 0-13 win.
Central Park could not manage to win more than two games in seven of the eight rubbers played, as Jayden McQueen, Rueben Launder, Harry Combe and Cameron Sykes took control for the Black side.
Denby Lingham and Taliha Duffy showed spirit in rubber eight as they went down 6-5 to Launder and Sykes.
Horsham Lawn came within three games of sweeping Haven Gold in the final section one fixture of the round.
The final scorecard showed Lawn winning 7-45 to 12-1.
Hannah Purtle’s 6-3 singles win over Callum Hayes was the only rubber in which Haven Gold won more than three games.
Hayden Farlow was particularly dominant for Lawn.
He did not concede a single game in any of his three rubbers.
A 6-0 singles win against Lauren Bond followed on from the same result when teamed with Callum Hayes and proceeded a 6-0 win with Jordan Toll.
