The greyhound is only the eighth in history to have annexed three or more Victorian country racetrack cup events in the same calendar year. Zambora Brockie won the Horsham Greyhound Cup back in June after starting favourite in the 490-metre race.
The Horsham Cup was won by nearly five lengths as Zambora Brockie flashed past the winning post in a time of 26.72 seconds.
It followed on from a win in May’s Warrnambool Cup.
Only Tempix – 1980 Geelong, Warragul, Horsham and Warrnambool cups – and Puzzle Prize – 2003 Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong and Shepparton Cups – have won more country cups in a calendar year.
The Horsham Cup has been won on five of the eight occasions a greyhound has captured three cups in the calendar year.
