Donnan broke the record by more than six seconds in her race to finish with a time of 1:00.77 minutes in the 8-year-old girls event.
The previous record was held by Stawell’s Dakota Healy with a time of 1:07:55 and was set in 2014.
Donnan completed a clean sweep winning all three of her races.
Club coach Jo Donnan said it was a dominant performance during the race.
"She has got the determination and she does not give up,” she said.
"I saw it coming having watched her train each week but I did not know what the record was.
"She actually did not even swim her personal best, so she can still swim even faster.”
Eloise Wills and Deacon Briggs were the top performers for the club with 12 medals between them.
Wills collected medals in all of her events and finished with four gold medals and three silver medals in an impressive performance from the 11-year-old.
Briggs also claimed four first place finishes in the 11 and 12-year-old boys section to go with his silver medal in the 400-metre freestyle event in the open boys race.
Marley Sutherland, Marcus Donnan and Ivana Donnan also collected wins at the event.
Jack Cameron collected two silver medals and a bronze from his four races.
Abbey Bell finished just outside the medals on two occasions.
Aleara Madex finished on the podium in all three of her races.
Charlotte Walker finished the meet with two silver medals from the 100-metre backstroke and 100-metre freestyle events for 11 and 12-year-old girls.
Donnan said the team’s performance was pleasing leading into the Christmas break.
"I am very happy with how they are travelling,” she said.
"To come out with that many placings including our relay teams, they did well.”
There were 17 representatives competing from the Ararat Swimming Club with a total of 103 competitors from across the district at the swimming meet.
Donnan said the club will send a smaller contingent to the Warracknabeal swim meet on Saturday.
“Getting close to Christmas, it is not unusual to do that with people going away,” she said.
