A shire statement on Friday stated Ms Roffey was an executive leader, with a unique mix of financial and corporate skills combined with public, private and community expertise.

Buloke Shire Mayor David Pollard said he was pleased with the appointment to the position which drew high quality candidates.
“Buloke is on the right track and this has been underlined by the outstanding field of applicants we were able to attract for the role of chief executive,” he said.
“We feel Lucy is the right person to continue on the good work of the last few years and to lead Buloke into the future.”
A Buloke Shire statement said that prior to working in mnicipal government, Ms Roffey was a senior executive at the Australian Centre of the Moving Image, attracting a $20 million investment from the state government.
“Her move to the local government sector in 2009 in a small rural setting was inspired by her experience of living in a close knit community in Canada, her love of the outdoors and the opportunities for her family to grow up in the country,” Cr Pollard said.
