Group research leader Claire Browne said yesterday was the last day of harvest.
“So we should be all done by Tuesday afternoon if everything goes according to plan,” she said.
Ms Browne said so far, the group was happy with the results.
“It has been a fantastic season,” she said.
“We are getting different results in all the trials depending on the different treatments.”
Ms Browne said yields had also been excellent.
“For some of the trial sites around Horsham, we were getting seven to eight tonnes a hectare,” she said.
At BCG’s main research site at Warmur, barley yielded between 5.9 and 7.6 tonnes a hectare.
Feed quality varieties fathom and rosalind were among the best yielders while compass, which has been a consistent performer in BCG and National Variety Trials in recent years, failed to finish in the top five.
Birchip Cropping Group will release the results from all its trials next month.
The 2017 trials review day will be at Birchip Community Leisure Centre on February 17.
The event, for BCG members, will feature presentations and discussions about the challenges and opportunities of the season.
