The society formed and had its first annual show in 1876 – 26 years after Horsham was surveyed.
President Dalton Cross said the anniversary was actually last year, but the celebrations would still be in 2017.
“The society had a busy year in 2016, which is when we should have celebrated the anniversary, but because of harvest, we delayed the event until February 17,” he said.
“This will give farmers an opportunity to attend.”
Mr Cross, 23, is the youngest president in the society’s history.
He encouraged any former or current society members, show sponsors, visitors and anyone from the wider community to attend the free celebration.
“Guests are encouraged to come as they are, straight from work, and share a drink and some stories at the bar with the Horsham Agricultural Society members,” he said.
Mr Cross said there would be free pizza on the menu, plus live music from Horsham musicians Kailee O'Beirne and Acousticus Stomp.
The celebration will be at the Horsham Showgrounds from 5.30pm.
Mr Cross said numbers were limited and people could pick up their free entry wristbands from the Horsham Ag Society office from January 24.
He said people could call 0400 425 254 for more information.
