The vessel enjoyed its first cruise for the public in October and it is expected to operate from Noreuil Park until Easter 2017.
The Sienna Daisy is licensed to carry 49 passengers and will cruise twice daily between Wednesday and Sunday at 12 noon and again at 2.30pm.
You can choose between either a scenic one-hour cruise for just $15 per person (2.30pm) or join the midday cruise which is 1.5 hours and $20 for just the cruise, or $28 with the captain’s lunch - great value! It is also available for private group bookings/charters.
The lunch is a mixed grill and a selection of fresh salads, with a bread roll, and you can buy a drink from the bar to enjoy with your meal as you take in the surroundings.
The right amount of commentary is provided throughout on the local environment, flora, fauna and history and if you want to take in some local knowledge make sure you place yourself in the right spot to hear the PA system as in some areas it can be a little harder to hear.
The service is very friendly and obliging and hosts are only too happy to chat about the river, their boats and Albury Wodonga and its surrounds.
The longer cruise (1.5 hours) travels up to Union Bridge, past the Riverdeck Cafe and playground area, then back down to the Kremur Street boat ramp area before returning to Noreuil Park.
Over the summer school holidays cruises will be available seven days a week and there will also be a Saturday evening dinner and cruise at 6pm.
Brothers Fraser and Robbie Knowles also operate the PS Cumberoona on Lake Mulwala. Formerly a well known presence in Albury, the paddlesteamer has been a big hit in its new home and has been conducting cruises regularly since relocating in 2016.
