NUMBERS were down for the 18th edition of the Tussock Jumpers B and S Ball at Harrow. Committee treasurer Paul Penrose said a crowd of 500 was about 200 down on the 2016 event.

“Everyone had a good time and there was no trouble but numbers were certainly down,” he said.
“I think there are a couple of reasons for it. A late harvest and we probably dropped the ball a bit on social media this year as well.”
Mr Penrose said it was the 18th year the event had been run at Harrow and the committee had donated more than $250,000 to community groups and organisations in that time.
“We donated $20,000 last year and $20,000 the year before that as well,” he said.
“Whether we’ll be able to donate a similar amount this year, we’ll have to wait and see.”
He said one of the projects the committee was considering was construction of a roofed area at Johnny Mullagh Reserve at Harrow.
