Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly access for all-abilities program manager Matt Berry said it was the first time the Whippets had had an application process.
“At this stage the position will have incentives based on commitment and experience,” he said. “Both coaches will be given the opportunity to get level one coaching accreditation as part of the role.”
It is part of a wider push to give the team a more professional look. The team is also looking to sign a new jumper sponsor to a three-year deal.
“We are getting new jumpers to coincide with the FIDA Western Conference and their jumper regulations in regards to logos,” Berry said.
“Any interested local businesses can get in contact with me for more details.”
The team is working with Wimmera Design and Print to create a new logo while holding on to its yellow and black colouring. Applications close February 17 at 5pm and the job descriptions are on the sports assembly website.
