Dimboola Sergeant Darren Sadler said police attended at Jeparit house at 1.45pm on Wednesday and located the guns.
He said it was a timely reminder for residents to be careful around guns and ensure they were registered.
“It’s very important firearms are secured to avoid theft of guns,” he said.
“It’s also important so weapons don’t fall into the wrong hands, whether that be a child or someone who shouldn’t be using firearms.”
Sergeant Sadler said police were inspecting firearms storage.
“It’s a timely reminder to check your storage is secure,” he said.
“Police are constantly inspecting premises of registered gun owners at regular intervals so expect police will attend your home and check.” Sergeant Salder said residents could access more information on firearms via the Victoria Police website.
