The workshops will run for about two hours.
The workshops are:
- St Arnaud – Monday, February 6 from 10am at St Arnaud Town Hall.
- Birchip – Tuesday, February 7 from 10am at Birchip Community Leisure Centre.
- Horsham – Monday, February 13 from 10am at Horsham DEDJTR.
- Edenhope – Tuesday, February 14 from 10am at Edenhope football-netball clubrooms.
Agriculture Victoria’s meat and wool program manager Kate Linden said it was important sheep and goat producers were familiar with what was required and what support was available.
“Agriculture Victoria is on hand to help producers with this new system and make sure they have access to the information they need,”
“We’ll talk through how to purchase ‘cost-neutral’ electronic tags, what producers’ responsibilities are and what support is available, including how to access co-funded equipment grants.”
Additional workshops and field days are currently being planned to look at management opportunities some producers may have as a result of individual identification of their sheep and goats.
Booking for the workshops is not essential but preferred for catering purposes.
