Sargent and Mills finished 2.5 shots ahead of Joyce Mills and Julie Obst, with Annabelle Plowwright and Jenny McRae in third.
A field of 92 players made a shot-gun start to the tournament at 8.30 in the tournament’s seventh year.
Sponsored by Carlin & Gazzard Mercedes-Benz of Mt. Gambier, there are some tremendous prizes up for grabs. The winners took home two nights accommodation at the Gambier Hotel with dinner and drinks at the 1862 restaurant and the use of a current model Mercedes-Benz vehicle while in Mt. Gambier.
Tracey Hobbs and Lisa Jakobi combined for the best scratch score of the day.
Prizes were awarded to June Crabtree, Jenny McRae, Annabelle Plowright and Coleraine Golf Club’s Beverly Fry for being the closest to the pin on the second, fourth, 11th and 15th holes.
