Dance instructor Jordan Wright started Praise Christian Dance School at the start of last year, after moving to the region from Adelaide.
Mrs Wright said from 2013 to 2015 she was the principal dance instructor at Sunrise Christian Dance School in Adelaide.
She was also a ballet instructor at Creative Arts Academy.
“Last year, I moved to Horsham with my husband and opened Praise Christian Dance School – I wanted to share my passion with the community,” she said.
Mrs Wright said the school offered classes for all ages.
“We have children from two years old, up to people in their 50s and 60s,” she said.
Mrs Wright said she taught classical ballet, contemporary, flexibility and strength training, pointe work, partner work, free dancing and hip-hop.
She said last year the school had three classes a week.
“Now we run 12 classes a week,” she said.
“I find a lot of young people come along to try it out and really enjoy it.”
Mrs Wright said there was lots of benefits of dance.
“Many young ladies I teach grow and develop in confidence,” she said.
“Dance also encourages exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
“It builds creativity and helps young people discover themselves.”
The school has two concerts a year – a mid-year concert and one at the end of the year.
Mrs Wright said anyone wanting to join the school could call her on 0450 880 707 or go to the Praise Christian Dance School’s Facebook page for more information about class times.
