NBN updated its rollout plan on Monday with a revamped address checker that provides more information about when services should be available.
Residents and businesses can enter their address here to receive the latest schedule for when services might be available.
Almost all of Horsham is in the ‘planned’ stage of rollout, with start dates varying between streets.
Parts of Bailee Street, Horsham can expect to get faster internet between July and September, while parts of Firebrace Street will have to wait until October to December.
NBN has previously set a deadline of connecting Horsham via fibre-to-the-node by the end of 2017.
Fibre-to-the-node connections use fibre-optic main lines to reach metal cabinets installed in streets while using the existing copper lines to reach individual homes and businesses.
The cheapest NBN fixed-line connections will be equivalent to the best ADSL2+ services available in the middle of Horsham.
For those willing to pay extra, NBN fixed-line promises speeds more than four times faster than the best regional ADSL2+ performance.
Once the rollout is complete in Horsham, residents will have almost two years to switch over their landline phone to similar services offered through the NBN.
Almost all fixed line internet connections in Horsham will be run through the NBN by 2019.
NBN has commenced its rollout at two greenfield sites, Waterlink and Jenkinson estates, and is preparing to start work at sites on Golf Course Road and at Henty Park Estate off the Western Highway.
Areas outside of Horsham’s main residential areas and the larger towns in the Wimmera will be able to access the NBN via fixed-wireless or Sky Muster satellite services.
