The Horsham City Bowlers will now travel to the Moama Bowling Club to compete in the state championships to find the Victorian State Midweek Pennant champion on May nine, 10 and 11.
The championships will be played in two sections with City competing against sides from Melbourne Metropolitan leagues, Geelong, Central Victoria, Murray Mallee and Peninsula Casey.
Club President Graham McDonald said this was an amazing effort by the midweek team and wishes them good bowling at Moama.
Club member Gary Knight said this will be a great experience for the bowlers.
“This is fairly unique for us to win the regional Midweek Pennant,” he said.
“In the 30 years I have been at the club I have only seen it three times.
“This means they will play against state players.
“It’s like if the winners of the Wimmera Football League faced VFL sides.”
