Francis believes the trust and game experience for each young player will be a valuable learning curve.
The side has swallowed the bitter pill of the 2016 season where the Bombers finished the campaign in 10th position, above Rupanyup and Natimuk United respectively.
Francis has managed to lure in some class footballers that will add some experience and depth to the squad.
One of the more notable players is Jason Kerr, the former coach of the Bombers will return after breaking his leg at the beginning of 2016.
“He’s a match-winner and the young guys really look up to him,” Francis said.
Another notable signing is Cam Bruce who will venture over from Laharum which will give the side drive and football smarts through the middle of the ground.
Over half of the Bombers senior side is made up of junior players that have come through the ranks.
“We have won back to back under-17 premierships and have a strong junior list again,” Francis said.
“Like the previous few years we will also be playing at least two of this years under-17 list up in the seniors each week to give them a go.”
Francis and the club have a plan to be a strong force in the Horsham and District Football League in the future.
“I’m extremely confident we are on the right path and if we stick to it we have exciting times ahead.”
Five minutes with Heath Francis
Who will you be looking towards to have a big year?
This year we expect the likes of Tyler Snowden on a wing, Jack Vague in the ruck, Todd Klemm and Ben Myerscough up forward to have big years.
These guys had an excellent year in 2016 and are in our middle tier of games experience so hopefully they can step up and be real leaders this year.
How will your style be changing this year?
This year we will have a little bit more structure in how we go about things so this will hopefully help us stay in games for longer and give the opposition some headaches to deal with.
Like most teams we will want to move the ball quickly and not turn it over easily as well.
What has you most excited for the season?
The most exciting thing about 2017 is we will get to see the the continual development and growth of our junior talent in the senior ranks.
Over half our senior team this year will be made up of players who have come through our junior program which is fantastic.
