Principal Daniel Weller said being his first annual Ride to School day in Horsham he was very impressed with the tradition.
“It went brilliantly,” he said.
“We had a few teachers on bikes but I helped with the traffic to allow everyone to ride as a group.”
Mr Weller said the initiative had many positives.
“It’s two-fold for us,” he said.
“It promotes physical activity within the school and community and it also gives us a great opportunity to get together as a community and ride as a big group.
“Seeing the smiling faces this morning and the conversations between children and parents was great.”
Mr Weller said circumstances permitting he would encourage all students to ride or walk to school.
“Any opportunity for students to be active I’m for it,” he said.
“Whether it’s to school or after school or on the weekends.
“I’d encourage any opportunity for the community to become active and get outdoors.
