Emergency services were responding to a traffic collision between two sedans on the corner of McPherson and Campbell Streets, Nhill at about 4pm.
The Brigade posted on Facebook that nobody was injured and the occupants of both cars were standing on the side of the road when we arrived on scene.
However, a third driver decided to weave around emergency vehicles and personnel keeping traffic away from the accident scene.
“We were disappointed and a little shocked though that we had a vehicle drive right through the accident scene along McPherson Street, which could have potentially skittled one of our members or another emergency services worker,” the brigade posted.
“When we park our vehicles across the road it is an indication that we are trying to block the road and create a safe work place.
“If you see a gap, don't try and play slalom despite how good of driver you are you might not be quite as nimble at the wheel as you think.”
The brigade posted that there was no safe way to drive through an accident scene unless prompted to do so by emergency services.
“Even if you are crawling through one of the workers might not see you with an emergency going on and hit you,” the brigade posted.
“And if we're waving vigorously it means we are trying to get your attention to get you to stop, not saying hello.
“This was only one vehicle. Thank you to the dozen or so other vehicles who stopped and waited to be waved through safely.”
