The fight lasted five rounds with Clark in the driving seat.
The bout was scheduled for 12 but after the bell rang for the sixth round to start Alderton threw in the towel.
Clark said the fight could not have been any better.
“It is really great when everything falls into place,” he said.
“After preparing for six months, training six days a week and doing a lot of study on our previous fight it’s superb to see it all come off.”
Clark it was a fantastic feeling.
“I nearly stopped him in the fifth round, I felt myself on top of him for a majority of the fight,” he said.
“I think he just couldn’t handle it anymore.
“I am happy with how I fought overall and especially the way I handled myself.”
Clark kept his fight basic, keeping to his traditional fighting style.
“Through the whole fight I stuck to my abc’s and I fought to the best of my ability each round,” he said.
“I wasn’t looking for the stoppages.”
Clark has three titles to his name in the Victorian Super Mid-Weight title, the Western Australia Light-Heavy title and now the coveted Light Heavy Weight Pan Pacific.
Clark will take a vacation to recharge and recuperate for his next fight.
“I am not sure about what is next,” he said.
“I haven’t really thought that far ahead yet.”
Clark said he is only young and doesn’t want to rush into anything.
“I will have a bit of a break, freshen up and enjoy the celebrations,” he said.
“Winning this title will hopefully push me up into the international rankings and then I can make that next step up.”
It was all smooth sailing for the boxer who turned out Sunday with a black eye.
“I barely got touched,” he said.
It was a sellout crowd and Clark said the atmosphere was amazing.
