Event director Ricky Marcy said it was great to see the fashions aspect of the Gift continue to build.
“It has become just like the fashions you would see at a country cup racing day,” he said. “We had more than 300 people gather to watch the competition unfold.”
Ladies day attracted more than 50 entrants in the ladies category while 15 men also donned their finest attire to vie for a prize.
Katie Rock, Doreen, took out the the major prize, with Ararat’s Melissa Fithall second and Altona’s Laura-Jane Hilditch was judged to finish third.
Danny Archer travelled from Geelong to be named the best dressed man of the day.
Peta Bell also made the trip from Geelong to win Hat of the Day.
“It is all part of the work we are putting in to make sure there is more to do off the track at the Gift,” Marcy said.
Sparkling wine was also given out to the first 200 ladies through the gate on Saturday.
