Allan was initiated into Freemasonry at the Werrigar Lodge No 128 at Warracknabeal.
The 94-year-old resides at the Sunrise Supported Living Centre in Bendigo. He was presented with a 70 Year Jewel and a certificate signed by the Grand Master of Freemasons, Victoria, for his service to Freemasonry.
Allan has been a member of three lodges since his initiation; the Werrigar Lodge No. 128 and Warracknabeal Lodge No. 128, which met at Warracknabeal. When the Warracknabeal Lodge closed in 2010, he joined the Wimmera Lodge No 70 at Horsham.
He was installed as the Worshipful Master of the Werrigar Lodge in 1960. In 1983 the Grand Master conferred him with the Rank of Past Grand Sword Bearer for services to Freemasonry and in 1993 he was promoted to Past Junior Grand Deacon. He received his 50, 60 and 65 Year Jewels in 1997, 2007 and in 2012 respectively.
