FOR the first time this season Donald will play at home when it takes on Wedderburn in round two.

Coach Tom Bell said his side should be at full strength after having the weekend off over Easter.

He expects Wedderburn to be really competitive despite the side coming up short against Birchip-Watchem in the first round.

“They are a young side so it should be a good chance for our team to continue working on some structures,” he said.

“I just want us to keep working on bedding down our structures and getting our processes sorted.

“It’s not so much about the opposition but how we approach the game.”

“I just want our boys to back up the good form that we showed in round one.”

Brayden Tonkin, Jacob Werts and Adam Pianto have all impressed Bell on the track since the first round of the season.

“We are also welcoming back Seamus Young who is always important for us,” he said.

“He has been our leading goalkicker the past couple of seasons.”

BOTH sides will be looking for a first win of the season in this match but St Arnaud will especially want to put on a good show on home soil.

Coach Jason DeGraff said the club wanted a few more wins across the grades this round.

He said it was all about putting together more consistent performances.

“Obviously in round one we did not play a full game,” he said. “That is what will happen with a young side but we still want to be aiming at a full four-quarter performance.”

St Arnaud will likely make three or four changes for the game and has a near full strength squad to pick from.

“There was certainly a handful of guys that played good all game for us in round one but there was a lot more who put in spasmodic performances,” DeGraff said.

“We need to play well for more than just five minute patches.”
