The regional rivals started the season poorly with Border Districts losing by a whopping 185 points against Mundulla.
This deficit had put the side at the bottom of the table.
The Eagles will be looking to bounce back from the sore loss.
The contest will be played at Goroke at 2.10pm.
The Cougars also received a hiding in round one, but not to the magnitude of the Eagles.
A 44-point deficit separated the Cougars and Padthaway in round one.
Cougars coach Nick Murphy was optimistic about Saturday’s game.
“A couple of players who were injured in the pre-season will possibly come back into the side,” he said.
“Jarred Creser is one player in particular. He injured his shoulder early in pre-season.
“Other players look to be coming back into fitness but we will have to see how they feel on the day.”
The Cougars will be without several under-17s players who stepped into the top grade last round.
“They play in Kingston this weekend, so this will give some other players a go in the senior side,” Murphy said.
Due to the difference in distance players live from the club, it is hard for players to consistently attend training sessions and Murphy believes this could be one problem.
“We didn’t want to overwhelm them in the first game with structures and style just because it was the first time we had all been together,” he said.
“This week we will be implementing defensive and offensive structures.
“We weren’t able to gel last game but the more the side plays together the better we will become.”
Josh La Rocca will be a key player for the Cougars, especially in defence.
Liam Vivian is a player Murphy hopes takes the step up for this game.
“He probably didn’t play as good as hoped (in round one),” Murphy said.
The Cougars are a new side with a new coach and several new coaching staff behind the scenes and Murphy said he looks forward to this challenge.
“At the moment we aren’t too concerned with individual players we play against,” Murphy said.
“What matters at the moment is development as a team and team defence.
“It is going to be a good game.”
