The Rebels will take on Eastern Ranges at Box Hill City Oval on Saturday.
The side recorded its first win in round four when it defeated the Calder Cannons 20.11 (131) to 5.21 (51).
This means the five Wimmera players likely to be among the side will be Jackson Taurau, Matty Lloyd, Thomas Berry, Naish McRoberts and Charlie Wilson.
Angus Gove could be an emergency.
The Rebels had won the same amount of games as the Ranges and will be in for an important contest in the fifth round of the season.
Fitzgerald said the side had less time on the track this week and more time on reviews.
“We were mindful we only had a six-day break,” he said.
“And if you factor in travelling, that’s less time.”
Fitzgerald is hoping the win in round four helps boost the confidence around the camp.
“It should see us in good stead,” he said.
“It was promising in the earlier rounds too, we were playing well, even at times when we were losing.
“Gaining confidence is the biggest factor.”
Fitzgerald said the priority this week had been preparing to hit the ball deeper in the attacking 50 and into space.
“We have been too concerned on hitting a target rather than hitting an area,” he said.
“If you have the time, hit that deeper option.”
The leaders within the side have been performing well every week and Fitzgerald is now looking for the next layer of players to step up.
“The depth of the team is important,” he said.
Fitzy’s players to watch:
Matty Lloyd: It is early days for the bottom-age player, he has been showing good signs so far. A consistent starter who has been playing behind the ball. He will be asked to play different roles throughout the year to develop his game.
Naish McRoberts: McRoberts has a certain something which urged the Rebels to hold onto him for another year. McRoberts has the ability to break a game open with his speed. A nice and aggressive.
Charlie Wilson: Wilson has flown underneath the radar this season and has been playing his role to the standard of the coaches. He had an impact on the scoreboard against the Calder Cannons kicking three majors.
