EMERGENCY service have rescued an injured primary-school aged child from the Grampians.
Police, Ambulance Victoria and State Emergency Services were called to the child’s aid just after 2pm, near Mt Zero road, Halls Gap.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the child injured their leg jumping either on or off a rock.
She said an air ambulance had landed at the school oval.
The spokeswoman said because of the location the child had to be carried out of the bush-land.
She said the child was in a stable condition with leg injuries and paramedics were still on scene assessing if the child would be flown or driven for further care.
Leading Senior Constable Shaun Allen said police were deployed to assist an injured hiker, but no major injuries were sustained.
He said police remained on scene.
