Donald managed a comfortable 29-point win against a Charlton side which is yet to win a game to start its premiership defence while St Arnaud suffered a heavy loss against Wycheproof-Narraport.
Donald v Charlton
Donald led from start to finish on the way to a 14.11 (95) to 9.12 (66) win playing on the road against Charlton.
The side piled on early goals and was already 29 points clear at the end of the first quarter.
The Royal Blues have started strongly in all three rounds this season but fell away late in round two and would have been wary of doing so again.
Charlton eked into the lead by the slightest margin during the second quarter to trail by 28-points at half-time and cut the lead to 20 at the final break.
Determined not to let another lead slip Donald kicked away again in the last quarter. Seamus Young was strong up forward for Donald to kick six goals and Darcy Harrison was named best player.
St Arnaud v Wycheproof-Narraport
A YOUNG Saints side was no match for its more experienced opponents as it went down 24.22 (166) to 9.4 (58) against Wycheproof-Narraport on Saturday.
It was always going to be touch ask for St Arnaud but things got tougher when it conceded five goals to one in the opening term.
The side kept in touch in the second quarter but then the Demons kicked 10 goals and seven behinds in the third to blow the game open.
Nic Coghlan played a sole hand up forward kicking all nine St Arnaud goals.
