The new craze caused queues at Horsham Toyworld on Tuesday afternoon, with people lining up to get their hands on the toy.
Fidget Spinners are made from metal or plastic and quickly spin when they are held in the centre.
They have taken classrooms by storm, but proponents have claimed that the devices can do everything from eliminate distractions to help those with anxiety.
Former Horsham mum Suzanne Wilde said Fidget Spinners had worked wonders for her 13-year-old son Ben.
“My son has a learning difficulty and he has always been a distractive boy,” she said.
“He is always on the move, always fidgeting with his hands and making noises when he is bored.
“He can’t sit for too long without doing anything so when these Fidget Spinners came out, I thought I would give them a try.”
Ms Wilde said the toy had helped Ben stop fidgeting.
“And as a bonus – he loves the toy,” she said.
Horsham’s Kassandra Negri said she suffered from anxiety, stress and wasn’t able to focus on tasks for long periods of time.
She said using the toy helped her overcome these issues.
“Using the spinner gives your mind something else to focus on instead of constantly being absorbed by the negative thoughts,” she said.
“It also allows your mind to stay present and therefore increase your ability to focus on a task or a person who's speaking to you.”
Horsham Toyworld and Just Juniors owner Angela Ballinger said the toys were selling out within hours at the store.
“People are scrambling to get more stock and because we are geographically isolated, it’s been difficult,” she said.
Mrs Ballinger said new stock had to be flown in.
She said she picked some up from Melbourne on Tuesday and customers were waiting at the store’s counter for them when she got back to Horsham.
Logan Henskes, 6, bought a Fidget Spinner on Tuesday.
“My friends have them and it made me want to get one,” he said.
