The travelling representative outfit won 37 to 26.
Horsham District coach Bianca Mibus said half of the game remained close.
“We were on top of Colac in the third quarter,” she said.
When the whistle sounded at the end of the first term, four goals separated the two teams.
Colac District were dominant in the second term, scoring 12 goals to Horsham District’s five. The half-time score read 25-14.
“They were a good quality side and their goalies were very accurate,” Mibus said.
“We picked it up a notch in the third.”
Captain Kiarna Marshman was moved from defence into attack in the second half to provide a different target.
Sara McCuish moved into defence, taking advantage of her height.
In the third quarter, the home side outperformed the travellers and scored eight goals to five.
But it wasn’t meant to be for Horsham District, with the side eventually going down, 37 to 26.
Jordie McAuliffe, playing in centre, was named best on court. Mibus said McAuliffe caused a countless number of turnovers and pressured the opposition strongly.
Mibus said she was impressed with Abby Nagorcka’s display.
“She was on the whole game,” she said.
“You can see the improvement – she has come leaps and bounds since her first year playing interleague netball in 2016.
“Tessa Marra gave me 110 per cent all day.”
