Mayor Tony Driscoll said the revamped project would help to protect the proud history of the Stawell community for generations to come.

"The new purpose-built document storage area will allow the Stawell Historical Society to preserve important pieces of this community's history,” he said.

“Northern Grampians Shire Council is proud to have played a part in ensuring that future generations will be able to build upon the fantastic research already being carried out.

"This project is a great example of community groups and both local and state government working together to create an outcome which benefits the entire Stawell community."
