President Bob McIlvena addressed the meeting noting that membership of the organisation was again in excess of 300.
He was pleased to announce that among the activities offered this year are two new classes - glass painting and Tai Chi.
U3A Horsham offers a diverse range of courses, catering for all interests and those wishing to learn new skills.
“There are classes available at U3A Horsham five days a week, featuring cultural, physical, educational and recreational activities,” Mr McIlvena said.
The U3A Horsham committee executive of Mr McIlvena, Mike Coffey (vice president), Denise McMillan (secretary) and Rick Walker (treasurer) was elected unopposed.
A contested election for the general committee was held for the first time in U3A Horsham history.
Rose Petrie, Helen Fleming, Elizabeth Kaucner, Ron Pouliot, Geoff Baker and Ethel Sanders were the successful candidates.
Mr McIlvena was presented with a small gift in recognition of his tireless work for U3A Horsham.
He stressed that new members are always welcome to join the group.
Information on courses available can be obtained by dropping into the railway station or by contacting a U3A Horsham committee member.
