The chaplaincy book fair raised $4,600 this year.
Committee chairwoman Yolande Grosser said there was about 10,000 books for sale at the two-day event.
The event raised money to pay for the college chaplains Kate Polack and Greg McKinnon and to allow them to provide pastoral care for students.
Ms Polack said the two chaplains organised a wide range of activities that supported the well-being of the students and help build their resilience.
The book fair had a wide range of genres from romance to gardening, cooking and religion.
Mrs Grosser said there was something for everyone.
“No matter what your interests are you are guaranteed to find your niche in the thousands of books that have been donated,” she said.
Mrs Grosser said the community constantly donated books to the fair, meaning there was also brand new material.
Books were $1 each and 50 cents for children books and magazines.
Student Oscar Watson said he went to the book fair each year and his family would buy between 30 and 50 books. “There’s always a great range of books and they are really cheap,” he said.
Horsham College’s year 11 students raised nearly $100 with the international soups they cooked up for the event.
The chaplaincy committee runs two book fairs a year with the second fair in November. Donations to the book fair can be made at Horsham College’s office.
