The decision was made after the Brim sports centre committee told the Wimmera Football League and the club the ground would not have recovered sufficiently in time for round eight and 11.
Warrack Eagles president Adrian Bibby said the club was looking forward to returning to Brim in 2018. “The ground is coming along well but the decision was made by the Brim sports centre committee not too risk it doing further damage to the ground,” he said.
Following the cricket season major work was done to resurface the ground including putting in place a better watering system. The works should help rectify the uneven and patchy grass coverage that led to the Eagles not playing games there in 2016.
The timing of decision allows clubs time to advise its members of the change in fixtures.
